With the global economy facing several turbulent headwinds, including stubbornly high inflation, supply chain constraints, a war in Eastern Europe, and a global energy crisis, investors are likely wondering just how much pain the markets and economy may have to endure in the months ahead.

To examine these questions and others, Columbia Business School Dean Emeritus and Director of the school’s Chazen Institute Glenn Hubbard recently interviewed Abby Joseph Cohen, a former investment strategist for Goldman Sachs and now professor of business at Columbia Business School.

Professor Cohen, who issues a quarterly update as part of the Executive Access: Global Economic Update program at Columbia Business School Executive Education, tackled topics such as the outlook for inflation, the role of the U.S. Federal Reserve and interest rate policy, where equity and bond prices may go, and the likelihood of a U.S. recession.
